It’s always fun to explore local favorite, but you know shopping area inside a train station is always a good idea.
Ecute is the shopping area inside the JR Ueno Station Building, and if you like to shop for something to eat, you will find here a selection of bakeries that famous for scone, fluffy “omu-rice” served by Sandaime Yousyokuya Taimeiken, raw-tuna sushi served by Tsukiji Uogashi Maguro Ichidai, all of the stores are delicious and cheap at the same time.
You can make a plan while eating breakfast, and next thing you do is just step outside the station and start exploring around Ueno area.
Depend on the stores, but you can enjoy your meal under $10.
Back in the Edo period, Kanda attracted merchants and craftsmen, and flourished.
Also, Manseibashi Station opened in 1912 but closed in 1943. When the station was renovated over 70 years later, it was reborn as a mAAch ecute shopping complex. Therefore, Kanda area is getting busier and lively than ever.
It’s been 40 years since Toritsune-Sizehdou started serving chicken dishes at the back street in Kanda.
At night, the store mainly offering chicken courses by using Hinai-jidori from Akita, and Nagoya ko-chin from Nagoya, and all those are brand chicken.

There are also three kinds of size for you to choose from, and the dish will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, early purchase is recommended.
Ueno no mori Park Side Cafe provides relaxation by serving seasonal vegetables, and the concept is “maximizing the natural flavors and tastes of the vegetables”.
Under the concept, the menus are using seasonal vegetables, and you can enjoy them with pastas, sandwiches, sweets, and drinks.
The good thing is that it’s located right in front of Ueno Park.
Inside of the store is made of wood, and it’s just makes you feel comfortable like you are in your home. Also, you can enjoy nice breeze and sunlight if you sit outside.
The most popular meal at lunch time is 「Mori no Gardensand」, it’s also famous for their big size. From the delicious vegetables deli to the dessert, you can enjoy it in on plate.
And last but not least, I recommend you to try fresh herbal tea！It’s super delicious.
Founded in 1964, and the restaurant serves traditional Japanese food, and serves great “Mugitoro”.
Various “Tororo” dishes, Kaiseki cuisines, and other healthy Japanese food are cooked by using the fresh seasonal ingredients. Celebrities also love to come here and enjoy mugitoro dishes.
They have a wide variety of table options, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very traditional. You can enjoy that too.
The price for dishes varies a lot, and it depends on what you choose to eat.
And Mugitoro dishes are healthy and made from only vegetables, so there is a option for vegetarians.
