On October 1, 2021, one of our staff members at MIMARU Kyoto Horikawa Rokkaku tested positive for COVID-19. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience we have placed on our guests and all parties involved.

Regarding this matter, we determined that no guests or staff members came in close contact with the infected individual at the hotel in accordance with the guidance of relevant health officials upon promptly reporting the case. To ensure the wellbeing of both our guests and staff, we have required that all employees who came within any proximity of the infected individual past the initial onset of the infection determined by local health officials undergo PCR testing twice: once immediately following the confirmed case and again three weeks later. In addition, we have sterilized all areas throughout the hotel potentially used by the infected individual. 

As always, we prioritize the health and safety of both our guests and staff as we continue to improve our COVID-19 preventative measures in cooperation with local health officials. We ask for your understanding as we attend to this matter.
