Try Making Kyoto-Style Yatsuhashi Sweets
One bus ride from Shijo-Karasuma, a short walk but not so long that you get lost.
First, I told the receptionist the name of my reservation. I was told to go to the restroom to wash my hands.
At the reception desk, they handed out a paper describing the history of yatsuhashi and how to make it. I was able to proceed while looking at the paper, and even though I was clumsy, I was able to make it successfully. After I finished making the yatsuhashi, tea was served with it.
English and Chinese information is available, and buses and cabs can be arranged at the reception desk, so there is no problem on the way back home.
