Escape Asakusa’s Crowds: Relax at This Cozy Italian Pizzeria
A great hidden gem away from the bustling streets of Asakusa. Though there was no English or multi-lingual menu, half of the staff were able to converse in English to cater to their rather diverse clientele. The service was relaxed but on point. The Smoked Provola Margherita had a soft, airy crust with a good chew, characteristic of the Neapolitan Pizza. The cheese was rather mild and lacked the smokiness, but it still worked well with the basil and tomato sauce. The star of the show, however, was the fried gnocchi with bacon bits, delicate crunch enveloping the soft, heavenly pillow-like texture, making for the perfect bite-sized appetizer. I will return for the gnocchi and hopefully try their hand-made pasta.
