Create Your Own Bamboo Lantern
The bamboo shop is called Bamboo Interior Shop Taken 竹ん, located in the Nihonbashi area and is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The shop is located on the second floor of a 4-story building. and the interior is rather small and can accommodate up to 4 persons at once. The store owner will kindly explain the process of making the bamboo lantern with the drilling machine. First, you will get the opportunity to come up with your own unique design, but if you have trouble coming up with a specific design, there is no need to worry since the store owner will provide you with some simple yet beautiful examples. Depending on the design you would like to create, the process might take up to an hour or two. Once you are finished drilling holes in the bamboo, you will be gifted a Japanese kimono of your choice.
