MIMARU Expands “Group Transport by MIMARU” Private Transfer Service for Families Visiting Japan

Five- and eight-passenger vehicles now offer hotel-to-hotel transfers, making travel days more comfortable

MIMARU expanded the destinations served by “Group Transport by MIMARU” on 29 September 2026. Offered in partnership with Airport Taxi, a private transfer booking service operated by Inbound Platform Corp., the service previously connected MIMARU properties with airports and sightseeing destinations. It now also provides transfers between MIMARU properties and hotels near theme parks, as well as between MIMARU properties in Kyoto and Osaka.

Launched in March 2026, Group Transport by MIMARU helps guests arrange their journeys with confidence through a dedicated multilingual booking page, fixed fares and advance payment. Since its launch, guests have praised the convenience of travelling with multiple suitcases and other large items, as well as the ease of reaching destinations such as Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, which can be difficult to access from central Tokyo by public transport.

The expansion now covers journeys from one hotel to the next. Spacious private vehicles allow guests to travel directly with their luggage, without navigating public transport connections while carrying multiple suitcases or pushing a stroller.

Beyond providing a place to stay, MIMARU addresses the practical challenges of family travel in Japan through services that make the whole journey more comfortable.

■ Easing the Burden of Moving Between Hotels

Approximately 80% of MIMARU guests are families travelling with children. On days when families move between hotels, parents must manage multiple suitcases and public transport connections while keeping their children safe—a different set of demands from travelling with adults alone.

MIMARU already offers a same-day luggage delivery service, “Luggage Delivery by MIMARU.” The expanded private transfer service gives families another option. With same-day luggage delivery, guests can send their bags ahead and enjoy sightseeing without carrying them. With a private transfer, they can travel directly from one hotel to the next together with their luggage.

Families can choose and arrange the option that best suits their needs, considering not only their luggage and itinerary, but also their children’s ages, stamina and how easily they become tired while travelling.

■ Key Features of Group Transport by MIMARU
(as of September 2026)

(1) Transfers for a Wide Range of Journeys, from Airport Arrivals to Travel During Your Stay

Alongside transfers to airports, major sightseeing destinations and places such as Mount Fuji that can involve complicated public transport connections, the service now supports hotel-to-hotel journeys, making travel with large bags more comfortable.

Tokyo Area
Transfers connect MIMARU properties in Tokyo with:

  • Airports and transport hubs: Haneda Airport, Narita Airport, Keisei Ueno Station, Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, Tokyo Station and Shinagawa Station
  • Major sightseeing destinations: Tokyo Disney Resort, Lake Kawaguchi, Hakone-Yumoto and Mount Fuji’s Fifth Station
  • Hotels within Tokyo’s 23 wards and the Maihama area: Available from 29 September 2026

Kyoto and Osaka Areas
Transfers connect MIMARU properties in Kyoto and Osaka with:

  • Airports and transport hubs: Kansai International Airport, Itami Airport, Kyoto Station, Shin-Osaka Station, Nankai Namba Station and Rinku Town
  • Major sightseeing destinations: Universal Studios Japan, Osaka Castle, Amanohashidate, Nara Park, Fushimi Inari Taisha and Arashiyama
  • MIMARU properties in the other city: Transfers between MIMARU Osaka and MIMARU Kyoto properties available from 29 September 2026

(2) A Dedicated Multilingual Booking Page for Easy Arrangements from Overseas

A dedicated booking page is available exclusively for MIMARU guests. With multilingual booking screens and customer support, even guests unfamiliar with Japan’s transport system or private transfer services can arrange their journeys before arriving in Japan.

(3) Peace of Mind with Fixed Fares and Advance Payment

All transfers use fixed fares and advance payment, allowing guests to confirm the cost when booking and eliminating the need to make a payment on the day. Professional drivers operate government-authorised commercial vehicles with green licence plates.

For details on fares, terms of use, available routes, vehicle types and passenger capacities, please visit the dedicated booking pages.

(4) Spacious Vehicles for Five or Eight Passengers Make the Journey Part of the Experience

Guests can choose vehicles accommodating five or eight passengers according to their family size and luggage requirements. With room for multiple suitcases or a stroller, families can travel together comfortably in one vehicle.

By connecting the MIMARU stay with the journeys before and after it, the service helps families enjoy a comfortable visit to Japan, including their time on the road.

■ Future Developments

MIMARU plans to introduce an hourly private vehicle hire service, allowing guests to explore sightseeing destinations more freely. Further expansion of the service area will also be considered based on guest usage and needs.

MIMARU will continue listening to families visiting Japan and responding to the realities of their journeys. Through services that address challenges around transport, luggage, meals and time spent during their stay—or simply create more time together—MIMARU aims to help more guests discover what makes Japan so rewarding to explore.
