Nara Park
This expansive park stretches across the eastern part of Nara city and is home to approximately 1,300 wild deer. It is an iconic attraction symbolizing the ancient capital of Nara, drawing numerous visitors every year.
The people selling deer treats were like “goddesses” because the deer were all avoiding them although all the people holding biscuits were being mobbed
Things good to know in advance
The deer are mostly centred at the front and will nip you if you have food, so we should have bought the biscuits further away where there were only a few deer

What We Loved
Deers are soon almost immediately after you exit the train station. Some were so chill, my 11 month old was able to pet them. Our family enjoyed feeding them, but it did get a little scary when they they wanted more and nudge you.
What Could Be Better
Elevators are small here or hard to find, so if traveling with a stroller make sure you have one that’s easy to fold and light enough to carry.
Things good to know in advance
A lot of the restaurants open at late/lunch, so if you’re a breakfast eater, the convenience stores are the way to go!
