What We Loved

All the streets are very clean and well-kept and tradition is held in high regard. The shrines and natural landscape were absolutely mesmerising and the deer were majestic.

What Could Be Better

We are so very grateful for our opportunity to learn about and appreciate Japan, its people and culture and have nothing negative to say. We have much admiration for this beautiful country and are completely in awe.

Things good to know in advance

Do not fill your days with endless plans. Take time to simple revel in the space and time. We are all so fortunate simply to be here together.

What We Loved

Deers are soon almost immediately after you exit the train station. Some were so chill, my 11 month old was able to pet them. Our family enjoyed feeding them, but it did get a little scary when they they wanted more and nudge you.

What Could Be Better

Elevators are small here or hard to find, so if traveling with a stroller make sure you have one that’s easy to fold and light enough to carry.

Things good to know in advance

A lot of the restaurants open at late/lunch, so if you’re a breakfast eater, the convenience stores are the way to go!
