The Sumida Hokusai Museum is located in Sumida City and opened in 2016. The nearest station is Ryogoku, only 1 step from MIMARU Tokyo Kinshicho(Kinshicho Sta.). This museum has a collection of around 1,800 arts. The most famous of these is The Great Wave off Kanagawa by ukiyoe artist Katsushika Hokusai, who was born and raised in Sumida City. This work is also the picture on the reverse side of the new 1,000 yen released on 3 July 2024.
