Coffee House Katsura

A little-known coffee shop cherished by locals, exuding a retro Showa-era atmosphere. It is definitely a hidden gem.

A 1967 Coffee Shop Beloved by Locals, Serving Classic Flavors

This restaurant has been an old-fashioned Japanese coffee shop since 1967. There are many customers who seem to be locals. When we enter the restaurant, take a seat, and decide on the menu, a waiter comes to ask us. We went to this restaurant at 11:00 on a weekday, and it was crowded at lunchtime. The waitresses were not so friendly, but the atmosphere was good. There were a couple of foreign customers who entered the restaurant, but they were a little confused near the entrance because when they entered this restaurant, nobody said something to them. There is an English menu, but no English-speaking staff. The restaurant is small, so it is not suitable for large families, but children seem to be welcome, and we saw several groups of children. The food was not fancy but delicious.
