As children, many of us were fascinated by the patterns we saw when peering into a kaleidoscope.

Here we will introduce an experience in Tokyo where you can create your own original kaleidoscope!

Recommended by MIMARU’s Staff

You can create a kaleidoscope by simply arranging parts of different colors, sizes, and shapes, so it’s a perfect activity for children.
It was exciting not knowing what pattern would appear when I looked inside.
By swapping the color of the pieces you put inside, you can create an entirely different pattern, allowing you to enjoy endless combinations of shapes and colors.

It's super easy to make!

Start out by filling the acrylic case at the end of the tube with shiny parts of your choosing. No scissors or glue are used in the process, making it safe even for small children.

Rather than placing the pieces randomly, the staff will guide you for the perfect placement and quantity.

Although you choose the colors and pieces yourself, it's impossible to imagine what the final product will look like!

It’s finished!

In just 10 minutes, my original kaleidoscope was complete!

The left and right sides were filled with different pieces, so when they were combined, I saw a beautiful pattern appear inside.

As a bonus, you’ll also receive spare parts, so you can swap them out to enjoy totally different patterns.

Premade kaleidoscopes are also available for purchase!

In the shop you’ll find kaleidoscopes handcrafted using traditional Japanese techniques.

The beautiful pieces for sale are inspired by the four seasons and landscapes of Japan.

(Pictured here: kaleidoscopes featuring cherry blossoms and lotus flowers)

Items such as “teleidoscopes,” which transform everyday scenery into a kaleidoscope-like experience, are also available for sale.

These items all make great souvenirs for friends and family!
