A New Travel Experience at MIMARU: Launching Our Web3 Pilot Project

  • Press Release

2024.09.10

At MIMARU, we are always looking for new ways to make your stay more exciting and memorable.
We’re happy to announce the start of a Web3 pilot project that brings a fresh kind of travel experience to our guests.
As part of this project, we’ll be offering NFT membership passes—a unique way to connect with MIMARU not only before and during your stay, but even after your trip.
Think of it as a digital key to exclusive experiences, designed to make your journey with us more personal,
more connected, and more fun.

Why We Started This Pilot Project
With Japan tourism on the rise, today’s travelers often face unnecessary inconveniences. At hotels, guests are still asked to present their passports or fill out registration forms. Each time they book a service, they must
re-enter personal details and go through repeated identity checks. These extra steps not only create hassle
but also make it difficult to enjoy a truly seamless journey—from planning, to staying, to post-travel.

At MIMARU, we believe hospitality means more than just comfort during your stay. By embracing
Web3 technology, which allows guest and reservation information to be securely and efficiently managed,
we aim to remove these repetitive tasks. Our goal is to create a smoother, more connected travel experience
that accompanies you every step of the way. This is why we launched this pilot project.

*Web3 refers to a new generation of the internet built on blockchain technology and decentralized networks. Instead of companies controlling all the data, Web3 allows users to manage and own their own information
and content directly.

*NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are digital assets that prove ownership using blockchain technology. Think of them as a unique digital certificate that shows something truly belongs to you—whether it’s artwork,
a membership pass, or a special experience.

At MIMARU, an apartment hotel brand operated by Cosmos Hotel Management, more than 90% of our guests come from overseas. To better support international families visiting Japan, we have launched “KURO-GO”—a service created to ease common worries and cultural differences that can make travel stressful.
The first service in this initiative is same-day baggage delivery services between the MIMARU Tokyo area and Haneda/Narita Airports. By having luggage delivered directly, guests can enjoy a smoother journey, whether
arriving with multiple suitcases, traveling with children on crowded trains, or exploring the city without
heavy bags. KURO-GO helps make every step of the trip lighter, easier, and more comfortable.

As part of this pilot project, guests staying at MIMARU Tokyo Hatchobori and MIMARU Tokyo Station East,
where the KURO-GO baggage delivery service is available, will receive a digital NFT membership pass.

This pass is designed to make your journey smoother by offering:
・Quick and easy application for the baggage delivery service
・Simple identity verification without repeated paperwork
・Convenient passport pre-registration before check-in

In addition, guests who use these features will receive the Stablecoins (a type of digital currency) as a small
reward.

With this project, our goal is to reduce the extra steps that often interrupt a trip and instead create a travel
experience that feels seamless, secure, and worry-free, from before you arrive in Japan, to your stay, and
even after your journey.

Looking Ahead
Building on this pilot project, MIMARU will continue working to enhance the travel experience for our
international guests visiting Japan. In the future, we aim to make travel even more seamless by:

・Connecting with flight bookings and domestic transportation services.
・Offering easy reservations for restaurants, leisure activities, and more.
・Providing personalized recommendations tailored to each guest’s journey.
・Collaborating with partner companies to expand convenient services.
・Creating special communities and referral programs for membership pass holders.

Through these efforts, our goal is to ensure that every step of your trip—from planning to exploring
Japan—feels connected, effortless, and worry-free.
