MIMARU SUITES Kyoto Shijo, a new type of apartment hotel where every guest room is a suite with 2 or more bedrooms, will open on July 22, 2021. MIMARU SUITES Kyoto Shijo is a fusion of a hotel and a specialty shop and collaborates with shops like Kawabata Takisaburo Shoten (which boasts a rich history spanning more than 100 years) and KURA Daily Store to allow guests to experience tableware, folk arts and everyday objects that have been selected by connoisseurs of Kyoto crafts.
MIMARU SUITES is the new series from APARTMENT HOTEL MIMARU. When searching for two or more bedroom suites in a convenient location, the only options until now have been a handful of luxury city hotels, but MIMARU SUITES offers private rooms with separate living, dining and bedroom areas, at an affordable price.
The first in this new hotel series, MIMARU SUITES Kyoto Shijo, features “MIMARU DOGU-TEN” in its lobby, a space displaying tableware, cooking utensils, and items for daily use, all made by skilled craftsmen. Guests can examine the items freely and use them in their in-room kitchen and dining areas. * Also available are plans that include sets of specialized tools for enjoying tea, coffee, sake, hotpot or sushi; and a Premium Room (up to 6 people, 98 square meters) that is furnished with crafts and antique furniture to resemble Kawabata Takisaburo Shoten’s shop.
*Rental of items is free of charge. Quantities are limited. To use the items, ask the front staff or book a plan that includes a tool set.
