MIMARU’s SDGs -Vol.6 ~ Enjoy sake tasting and seasonal fruits on your trip! MIMARU offers a delicious Japan Experience in collaboration with local shops! ~

With the help of everyone involved with "MIMARU", we at Cosmos Hotel Management Co., Ltd., who operate the APARTMENT HOTEL "MIMARU", were able to identify our three core sustainable goals, which are "Diversity in People and Work Styles," "Connection with Guests and Local Communities," and "Environmental Consideration."
Since 90% of our guests are travelers from overseas, we have implemented two initiatives to specifically achieve our " Connection with Guests and Local Communities " goal. These initiatives aim to offer our guests the chance to interact with local merchants and taste the delicacies they offer.

① Collaboration between Imada Shoten, a local liquor store that has been in Shinkawa for 100 years, and MIMARU Tokyo Station East
A locally owned sake store where you can consult with the owner about the best sake to take home as a souvenir.
Sake tasting experience and sake cup giveaway event at MIMARU

The sake shop Imada Shoten is a locally owned and operated corner store (known as "kakuchi") that actively holds events and tastings for local residents to enjoy. They have a wide selection of sake, stylish beer, and whiskey that make great souvenirs, and they are happy to answer questions about the characteristics of their alcohol and whether it is possible to take it home from overseas. In March 2024, we invited the owner, Takeo Imada, to MIMARU and held a sake tasting event in the hotel lobby.

② Kyobashi Produce, a store that delivers the finest fruits and vegetables, in collaboration with MIMARU Tokyo Ginza East
Foreign guest can enjoy the "Seasonal Fruit Platter"
Kyobashi Produce, located right in front of MIMARU Tokyo Ginza East, is a fruit and vegetable store operated by Man-ei Co. In addition to vegetables and fruits purchased from markets and production areas every morning, the store also carries daily groceries, which are highly in demand among MIMARU guests. Many overseas guests have complimented Japanese fruits for being simply delicious, so we asked Kyobashi Produce to offer seasonal fruits with handwritten descriptions in the lobby of MIMARU Tokyo Ginza EAST. To make purchasing fruit more convenient while traveling, the store has also prepared a "seasonal fruit platter" (1,000 yen and 2,000 yen/tax included) exclusively for MIMARU guests. Guests are happy to enjoy a variety of Japanese fruits for breakfast or dessert in the comfort of their rooms.

● Comments from Mr. Takeo Imada, owner of "Imada Shoten" to our guests from overseas
"I am glad that I was able to convey to our overseas customers some of the deep appeal of sake. At Imada Shoten, we open our sake-tasting corner store every day, so I would be happy if foreign customers could meet some of the locals. We also have a large selection of other alcohol from all over Japan that foreigners might enjoy, and we are happy to give advice on what to bring back as a souvenir."

● Comment from Mr. Kazunori Yamagishi, manager of Kyobashi Produce, to our overseas guests
We buy our vegetables and fruits at the market every day and offer them in the store according to what is fresh that day. We sell to many people who live or work nearby, and recently we have seen an increase in the number of international customers as well. I really enjoy talking to customers about their day and requests for the following day while working in the store. I would love for our overseas guests to taste Japanese seasonal fruits.
