For many Japanese, Taiyaki is a well-loved traditional sweet.

Over time, Taiyaki has become widely known overseas as well due to the influence of anime and movies.

We are excited to introduce this experience where you get the chance to bake Taiyaki yourself.

I had never made Taiyaki before, but the staff guided me through the process with clear explanations, and I was able to bake them successfully.
Before baking, we watched a 15-minute video that provided fascinating insights into the history of Taiyaki.
I could start baking right away and fully enjoy the experience.
Taiyaki is mostly known for its sweet fillings, but I was happy to have the option of savory flavors as well.
From choosing the ingredients to the baking process and then enjoying my self-made treats, the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable.

A wide variety of ingredients

Taiyaki is often thought of as a sweet Japanese confectionery filled with sweet bean paste and cream, but in recent years, there has been an increase in shops selling savory taiyaki with flavors such as keema curry and cheese.

In this taiyaki-making experience, you can choose your favorite flavor from 11 different fillings. Even the time choosing your ingredients is exciting, since they all look so delicious.
In this experience, you can choose two fillings. This time, I chose bean paste and kimchi cheese and made a total of six Taiyaki.

Here is how it works

Sift in the flour, mix the batter carefully to avoid bubbles, and transfer it to a “chakkiri,” a tool used to pour batter into molds.
Then pour it onto the hot plate and top with the ingredients.
As the batter is poured, it begins to bake and harden.
The hot plate keeps the temperature constant so the batter can be thoroughly cooked without burning.
It was harder than it looked at first, but the staff was always there to help.

Freshly baked and ready to enjoy!

My handmade, freshly baked Taiyaki were delicious.
Now I want to try the other flavors!

In addition to the taiyaki-making experience, Taiyaki takeout is also offered.
During the summer, ice cream and shaved ice are also available.
You can bring your favorite ingredients to the Taiyaki-making experience and make your own original creation.

This experience is also very popular with children!
It’s used in Japanese schools as an opportunity to learn about Japan’s traditional industries while having fun.

Don’t miss this chance to create some memories in Japan!
