Matsuo Taisha Shrine

Located in Kyoto’s Nishikyo Ward, this is one of the oldest shrines in the city and is widely revered as the guardian deity of sake brewing. The grounds feature beautiful gardens and a sacred spring, and visitors can enjoy seasonal scenery such as yamabuki blossoms in spring and colorful autumn leaves.
