Tonkatsu Kaya
Established in 1972 in Nihonbashi Kayabacho, this shop is famous for its pork loin cutlet fried in 100% lard, bringing out the natural sweetness of pork fat.
This is a store specializing in tonkatsu.
Opened in 1972, it is run by a married elderly couple who belong to the second generation and is a representative store of the Hatchobori area.
The store has only 10 places available but it is perfect for a homemade taste of this famous dish.
The sauces used for the meat and salad are unique and special recipes from the store.
They also have a menu in English, although it is not very recommendable.
Conveniently located one train ride away from Ginza, Tsukiji and Ueno without any transfers. Within walking distance of Nihonbashi, a center of Japanese culture, and Ningyocho, a traditional downtown area.
Only a 4-minute walk to Tokyo City Air Terminal (T-CAT) which features direct buses to major airports. Head to Tokyo Skytree® or Shibuya straight from Suitengumae Station.
