Make Your Own Traditional Japanese Sweets at a Historic Shop
The first floor of the store sells Japanese confections, and the moment I entered the store, I was immediately excited to see all the beautiful Japanese confections on display there. The staff was polite and kind. Although they did not seem to speak English, they did their best to serve foreign customers, which was very nice.
This time, I had a chance to try my hand at baking sweets in the hands-on class on the fourth floor of the store. I was able to experience the beauty of traditional Japanese sweets as I watched the craftsmen demonstrate their skills right in front of me. It looks easy, but when I actually tried it, it was quite a struggle. However, the more difficult it was, the greater the sense of accomplishment I felt when I finished.
After the confectionery making was finished, the craftsmen demonstrated their professional skills to us. You can eat the sweets you made on the spot. You can also drink matcha or hojicha tea with your confectionery.
