Ideal for Vegans Interested in Experiencing Japanese Dining Culture
The restaurant is a renovated Kyoto machiya house with a modern touch of elegance. Once I entered, a staff member was waiting for me with indoor slippers to change into, as if welcoming me into their home. I got a table overlooking the indoor Japanese garden, which itself was one of the highlights of the evening. My plate arrived with varieties of Kyoto banzai ingredients, vinegared rice, nori, and condiments. I really enjoyed wrapping my own original version of teori sushi, and the refreshing drink went quite well with each bite. I tried all the items as well as different combinations until I could not eat another bite. Though I was a little disappointed in the lack of fish items, it was still a truly delightful experience. Highly recommended for vegan guests who wish to try Japanese cuisine.
