Hidden Cafe in a Traditional Kyoto Machiya, Famous for Rolled Omelette
I walked into the restaurant without reservation; it's a small hidden cafe in the kyomachiya with only 6 tables and four counter-seats. The banzai lunch was made of fresh and delicious kyoto vegetables. The daily special lunch is limited to 5 servings only. Another popular dish is the rolled omelet, which will surprise anyone and make you wonder how many eggs they use just for this dish. Rice is free to add. They also have a simple menu for dessert and both the taste and presentation were also very good. There are a few workshops nearby, one of which is Marumasu Nishimura, a workshop for kyo-yuzen and furoshiki wrapping. This is a well-hidden place for those who want to experience the kyomachiya atmosphere before or after joining the workshop.
