Gion Komori
Gion Komori is a Japanese sweets shop located just a five-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line. In its authentic Kyoto-style setting, you can enjoy Japanese sweets while experiencing the differences of changing seasons.
The staff accommodated to the long line really quickly, and serving staff could all speak English quite fluently. The warabimochi was worth queuing up for! The walk there was beautiful and relaxing too. We were amazed at the scenery, something we don’t get back in our very much city lives back home.
What Could Be Better
The line was incredibly long, but as mentioned, it was not as long as I had expected, given that it’s a famous spot.
Things good to know in advance
I would say do it during meal times because it wouldn’t be as crowded (everyone’s having their main meals).
Located just a 3-minute walk from Karasuma Oike Station, allowing easy movement in any direction within Kyoto City. All rooms offer two separate bedrooms in a spacious 85㎡ apartment.
