The restaurant is located in Pontocho, a popular tourist destination, and although the sign is small, it is surprisingly easy to find. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, with both counter and table seating available. The kitchen is semi-open, so you can see the chef preparing dishes.
The staff is not as cheerful as in an izakaya, but they speak simple English and are courteous.
The wait time for each dish was short, but I was able to finish my meal without feeling rushed.
The highlight of the meal, the 100 g Wagyu sirloin steak, was just right for women, but men may find it a little insufficient. I would recommend ordering the abalone or foie gras as an individual item.
Enjoy nature along the nearby Kamo River, with easy access to Kiyomizu-dera and Gion. On-site facilities include a gym and first-floor kids' play area.
